I've Fallen

I've Fallen & I don't know how to get up.

Words are lost.

My cries are unheard

or am I crying silently?

Rise up & gravity holds me down,

pulling every ounce of me through my feet.

Push a smile through the grim look,

grim look I wear involuntarily.

A smile is contagious you know?

Push a smile through to pass it on,

pass it on to the next.

Push it until I can finally change my mask,

stare blankly out at space.

Go through the notion;

1,2,3,4.

Body moves with it's own motion to follow the routine.

Thoughts are lost.

Mindless tasks fill the day, like clockwork.

I've fallen & I don't know how to get up.

Stories shared, whispers & laughter fill the air,

but I don't recognize the voice..

Lips are moving, words are lost,

But I'm silent.

Words exchanged but I cannot hear a sound

in my own serenity of darkness,

Familiar faces & familiar voices,

but to me stand these strangers.

Words are lost, cries unheard

or am I crying silently?

For I have fallen & I don't know how to get up,

so I lay, lay in my serenity of darkness,

day by day.
