I sit here staring at the stars,

Looking for the Milky Way

That will lead me

All the way home.

I wonder if these stars

Were to even dim

Would I still be around

Or would I just disappear?

I feel the ground under me

Caving and swallowing me

Within itself.

I struggle grasping

at the dirt around me,

Digging myself deeper and deeper

Into my own grave.

Dirt runs down my face

Gasping as it fills my mouth

Screaming out loud

But the ground eats my sounds.

I stare wide awake

In my own grave now,

As I lay down flat

My tears come falling

My cries unheard, I am drowning,

Drowning in my own.

Was this my fate to begin

Or was there a wrong turn taken?

I lay here in my silence

questions run through my head

Will these voices kill me first

Or will my soul just fade?

Faces stare down at me now,

faces that I have known,

Standing with confusion

Staring down below,

the reason of this loss

The reason unknown.
