The love I crave

I crave for someone to fight for me

Not to trap me.

The difference between the two,

you do not see.

I want to be cherished and held,

not held down against my own will.

I want you to see me as equal,

like you say you do, but

As I listen to your words,

The actions I see say otherwise.

Do you love me

Or do you love the idea of loving me?

Do I make you whole, truly whole?

Or are you fighting for the idea

that I should make you whole?

I want you to care,

As I feel you care for me...

Hidden behind the wall of anger

You're hiding in your own shame.

Stuck I am, in a love that no longer exists

I long to be loved.

To be held as I am the only person,

bringing you happiness on cloudy days.

I no longer feel I am your sunshine,

Or is the opposite and it is I

that feels not the same.

So I sit and only dream

of the love that is filled with crave

and not feel like I am your slave.

To be walked around and be at your feet

when you love for me

and other times I hold a place

of the invisible soul

just as a place holder.
