I gasp for air as I feel my lungs collapse.

I reach out my hands to grasp a hold

to keep myself from drowning

in the sea of my emotions & thoughts.

Lost I am, trying to make sense

make peace from within.

Little by little I feel my hair raise

as it consumes me whole.

Consumes my thoughts, soul & emotions

till I am left with a canvas painted

all in black.

Darkness, it has consumed me

once more.

Lay the sheet over my face

so you can mourn my loss.

Loss of my own sense of self

left with only what consumed me,

slowly eating me away till I disappear.

Disappear into this sea

that won’t keep me afloat.

So I wait, I wait to make peace

peace from within.
