I Fear

I fear,

Fear that this world

Has turned me heartless,

That my tears have turned into sand

Just to be picked up by the wind

And blown away to never-land.

My once filled heart

Shattered by the disappointment

I have felt towards others.

No longer does my heart think

That there is good to be seen

In every leaf that I turn,

That there is anything to be felt

With every words to this song.

Broken promises and greed

That planted this very seed

now has grown into this tree

That has turned into my life

With no way to flee.

My branches are all broken,

I have little hope they will bloom.

Once upon I awaited the day

Thinking but I knew better

But I know it was too soon.

For now I see

What my naive mind didn’t,

The bubble I lived in

Bursted and exposed it all,

All that’s left for me to do

Is to let the pieces of my life fall.
