Guilty

I’m guilty, guilty as charged,

guilty for falling for you.

Should have known better,

Should have never kissed you.

Sometimes I wonder,

If I would have done it different.

If I would have said No,

but then again how would have I learned,

Learned what I know.

Texts turned into phone calls,

Coffee dates turned into sleep overs,

But I should have known better.

So, I’m guilty, guilty for falling,

falling hard for you.

But I hold nothing against you,

Drunk off your kisses

And high on your touch.

I lost myself deeper and deeper

In my love.

With every look, you won me

And every smile, I fell even harder.

Should have known better,

should have seen your games

but intoxicated with you,

I almost forgot to breath.

I told myself I wouldn’t,

I shouldn’t, but for you

I even dared to do what I couldn’t.

Lost in your bed,

you drowned me in your sheets

all I could do was float,

float in my dreams that I wrote myself.

Dreams of one day of a happily ever after

But I hold nothing against you,

As you see I am the guilty.

Guilty as charged,

guilty for falling even when

I knew I shouldn’t.
